Strikingly Review 2026: AI Site Builder, Pricing, Free Plan & Alternatives

Strikingly is one of the original “make a website in minutes” builders. It started out famous for clean one-page sites, and in 2026 it is still built around the same idea: pick a template (or let the new AI Site Builder draft one), click anything to edit, and publish. It is not trying to be Webflow. It is trying to be the fastest path from “I need a site” to a good-looking live page for a freelancer, a small shop, an event, or a personal brand. Our directory currently lists Strikingly from $12/mo, which lines up with the month-to-month price of its entry Limited plan (the yearly price is lower, more on that below).

This Strikingly review is based on our Strikingly listing plus Strikingly’s own pricing page, feature pages, and help center as checked in October 2026. We focus on the questions people actually search for: is Strikingly still good, what do you get on the free plan, which paid plan makes sense, and when you should pick something else.

What is Strikingly?

Strikingly is a cloud-hosted website builder aimed at people who do not want to touch code or fiddle with design settings. Its homepage pitch is simple: “Click anything to edit, and publish instantly,” with the claim that you can build a site in under 30 minutes. Everything runs on Strikingly’s managed hosting, so there is no server, plugin, or update work on your side.

Out of the box you get a section-based editor, a built-in Simple Store for selling, a Simple Blog, built-in analytics, signup and contact forms, social feeds, galleries, video backgrounds, password protection, and automatic HTTPS. Paid plans add a custom domain, memberships, pop-ups, custom code, and more products.

Strikingly is listed in our directory as “Strikingly AI” because of its newer AI Site Builder, but the core product is still the classic template editor. The AI simply gives you a faster starting point.

Key features

The editor: simple on purpose

Strikingly sites are made of stacked sections (hero, about, gallery, store, blog, contact and so on). You click text to type over it, click images to swap them, and add sections from a library. Styles such as colors and fonts are applied site-wide, so pages stay consistent without effort.

The trade-off is control. You do not get a free-form canvas like Wix or a CSS-level designer like Webflow. On multi-page sites, Strikingly’s help center notes that you cannot use different templates for different pages; that is deliberate, to keep the design consistent. If you want pixel-level layouts, this will feel limiting. If you want a site that looks tidy no matter what you do, it is a strength.

One-page and multi-page sites

Strikingly made its name with one-page sites where the navigation scrolls to sections. You can also switch on multi-page mode. According to the help center, Free and Limited users can have up to 5 pages, while Pro and VIP users can have up to 100 pages per site. Each page gets its own URL generated from the page title.

That 5-page cap is the single most important limit to understand. A small portfolio or a service business with Home, About, Services, Work, and Contact fits. Anything larger means Pro.

AI Site Builder

Strikingly’s help center describes an AI Site Builder you reach from Dashboard, My Sites, Create New Site. You enter a site title and a description, and can set the tone, language, single or multi-page format, and upload a logo. It then generates text, images, and sections, offers three layout styles (with a button to regenerate more), and drops you into the normal editor.

Inside the editor, AI can add new sections in the same theme, expand text (“Write More”), rewrite text (“Rewrite”), and suggest AI images from a search box. Strikingly says the AI editor is included in all plans, though free users can create up to 5 sites. The blog editor does not have the AI writing options at the time of writing.

Treat the AI output as a first draft. Like every AI builder we have tested in our best AI website builders roundup, the copy needs your real details, prices, and voice before it is ready to publish.

Simple Store (e-commerce)

The built-in store connects to PayPal or Stripe and supports shipping, coupons, digital goods, and members-only content. How much you can sell depends on the plan:

  • Limited: a single product, 5% transaction fee.
  • Pro: up to 300 products, 2% transaction fee.
  • VIP: up to 500 products, 0% transaction fee.

That makes Strikingly fine for a creator selling a handful of products, an ebook, or a few services. It is not a replacement for a full commerce platform if you have a large catalog, complex variants, or serious inventory needs.

Blog, forms, and audience tools

The Simple Blog gives each post its own page and is genuinely easy to use. Signup and contact forms, newsletters, and live chat live in the same dashboard, which is handy for small businesses that do not want five separate tools. Pro adds custom forms, password protection, site memberships, and paid subscription memberships. VIP adds multiple membership tiers, multi-language with auto-translation, a live chat widget, and 2,000 active contacts.

Domains, SSL, and hosting

All sites get free HTTPS. A custom domain requires a paid plan (Limited, Pro, or VIP). Yearly plans include one free domain for the first year; Strikingly’s help center lists domain registrations from $24.95 per year for common extensions like .com, and custom email addresses are $25 per year on the pricing page. Domain purchases through Strikingly include privacy, are non-refundable, and auto-renew.

On the free plan you publish on an address like yourname.mystrikingly.com, which you can rename in Settings, Domains.

Strikingly pricing in 2026

Here is the official pricing as shown on Strikingly’s pricing page in October 2026. Prices are in USD and billed yearly; Strikingly also offers monthly, 2-year, 3-year, and 5-year billing.

Plan Price (billed yearly) Sites Pages per site Store Notable extras
Free $0 Free sites on mystrikingly.com Up to 5 Not detailed on pricing page mystrikingly.com address, no custom domain
Limited $8/mo 2 Up to 5 1 product, 5% fee Custom domain, free domain for a year, 1 GB storage, 50 GB bandwidth
Pro $16/mo 3 Up to 100 300 products, 2% fee Remove branding, memberships, pop-ups, custom fonts, custom code, version restore, 20 GB storage
VIP $49/mo 5 Up to 100 500 products, 0% fee Multi-language, live chat widget, phone support, account manager, 100 GB storage

Our directory lists Strikingly from $12/mo. That matches the Limited plan on monthly billing: the pricing page says yearly billing saves $48 a year on Limited, which is the gap between $12 and $8 a month. Pro and VIP are cheaper per month on longer terms too, so check the toggle on the pricing page before you pay. Strikingly notes you can upgrade from monthly to yearly but cannot downgrade from yearly to monthly.

Which plan should you pick?

  • Free: testing, a class project, or a temporary event page.
  • Limited: a simple personal or small business site that needs a custom domain and fits in 5 pages. Note that Strikingly branding removal is listed under Pro, not Limited.
  • Pro: most real businesses. More pages, no branding, a usable store, memberships, and custom code.
  • VIP: multilingual sites, larger stores that want 0% transaction fees, or anyone who wants phone support and a dedicated account manager.

Strikingly free plan: what you really get

Strikingly is free to start, and the free plan is usable for a real test. You can publish on a mystrikingly.com address and build up to 5 pages. You cannot connect a custom domain, and the help center notes that premium features used while editing will not appear on the live site if you publish on the free plan. You also cannot mask a free site behind your own domain with framed forwarding; Strikingly blocks that and suggests a plain redirect instead.

Bottom line: use the free plan to try the editor and the AI builder, then move to a paid plan before you send real customers there.

Cons

  • Limited design freedom compared with Wix, Webflow, or Framer.

  • Not built for large catalogs, complex content sites, or heavy SEO publishing.

Who should use Strikingly?

Good fit: freelancers and consultants who need a polished one-page site; creatives who want a simple portfolio; event and launch pages; small businesses selling a few products or services; anyone who values speed and low effort over design control.

Not a great fit: agencies building custom client designs, content-heavy publishers, directory or marketplace sites, and stores with hundreds of products. If you are building a listing or directory site, see our guide to the best website builders for directory sites instead.

Strikingly vs alternatives

Strikingly competes with other simple, hosted builders. Here is how it compares with the closest options in our directory:

  • Wix: far more design freedom, apps, and features, with a steeper learning curve. See our Wix review.
  • Squarespace: stronger templates and commerce for design-led brands, at higher prices. See our Squarespace review.
  • Tilda: block-based like Strikingly but with a more powerful Zero Block designer. See our Tilda review.
  • Hostinger Website Builder: budget-friendly AI builder bundled with hosting. See our Hostinger Website Builder review.

Verdict: is Strikingly worth it in 2026?

Yes, for the right person. Strikingly is still one of the quickest ways to get a clean, mobile-friendly site live, and the AI Site Builder makes the first draft even faster. The yearly Limited plan at $8/mo is a cheap way to get a custom domain on a small site, but most businesses will be happier on Pro at $16/mo (billed yearly) for more pages, no branding, and a real store.

If you need design freedom, a big store, or a content-heavy site, look at Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, or WordPress-based options instead. Compare Strikingly with hundreds of other tools on WebsiteBuilders.Directory.
